the movie "daddy and them" is my all time favorite. and hell ya prine can act...they are all great! lora dern, and her mom plays her mom in the movie...just great and tragic, too...

Family problems, huh. I had to kill my mother. John Prine is so cool and did such a good job in Thorton's DADDY AND THEM. Billy Bob will always be connected with Carl Childers. Billy Bob gathered these characters from Daddy And Them and Slingblade from people he saw as a kid in Arkansas. Do YOU want a muffin? No, unless you have some mustard to spread on it.

I've just watched 'Daddy and Them'. Aside from all the bad language it was good. I did have a little trouble with Varney saying, 'kiss my *** and calling that guy a 'little s***'. I guess because I grew up with Ernest and it's strange to see him say that. But Varney was excellent in the movie and the only reason I watched it. I know they had to film rather quickly because Varney had to have a fist sized tumor removed from his lung. He didn't really look sick here. RIP, Jim.

I had no idea that John Prine was a good actor. And he must be, because Billy Bob Thornton is an EFFing genius and Prine holds his own. Well done for finding and posting this. Thanks.
