@FatBabyCheeks Agree with you that is why I was deeply against the movie being remade. Some movies are classic and should never be touched, Sparkle is one of them.

Lonette sang this the best. The song loses its meaning without Sister's vulnerability and desperation. Neither AF nor En Vogue evoke that kind of emotion.

@dh1173 Agreed. I posted a review on Amazon concerning this same thing and dman near got cyber lynched.

@FatBabyCheeks Excuse me, I meant Delores.

How come no one ever gives Darlene any love? She too black for ya'll????

@freejdc2 I agree! They should have just made a whole new movie "inspired" by Sparkle rather than a "remake". Seriously, they have Omar Epps as an "abusive comedian" (?????) rather than a pimp/drug dealer/hustler. LOL Not to mention the "new" cast is TOO OLD for this story! I mean, if you are 35+ years and still getting your azz beat, you deserve to get your azz beat! Sparkle was about high schoolers. Ah, Hollywood...

@Jevezy Jordan is cast in the Sparkle role, not the Sister role, originated by Lonette Mckee. Even Irene Cara couldn't keep up with Lonette. lol

@DoMoreGoodDeeds lol you crazy! lol

@nystar1881: Thanks for clearing that one up.

@FatBabyCheeks: I meant Lonette McKee, simple mistake, but I still feel that Jordan could never replicate the acting that Lonette did in the original Sparkle movie.
yes indeed...damn, damn, damn that Satin...I still cry at Sister's downfall..LOVE Sparkle. Not sure about the remake though I can see Jordan Sparks in the lead.
