Amazing method involving two very ordinary household products. Amaaazing! You MUST try it out next time!

TROUBLESHOOTING TIPS!
If this did not work for you on the first try, here are additional tips. Trust me, it works. I've done this at least a dozen times. Yes, I clog my toilet fairly often.

1) Make sure you are using scalding hot water (as one commenter suggested - about the temperature of hot coffee). Hot water from the sink may work, but to ensure optimal success, use a water boiler or put it on the stove.

2) Do this more than once if necessary. The worst clog I had, I had to do this 4 times. I probably could have cut down the number of attempts had I just boiled water, but I was being lazy and used hot water from the tap instead. Regardless, keep trying. It works.

3) If you do not have dishwashing soap, I've also used body wash/bubble bath soap. This also works. And you get more bubbles.

If this didn't work for you, you are doing something wrong, or you put something in the toilet that is insoluble.
