By the way I think Dessay is the only one you can really understan what she says. and also the one using the best the vocalises as to expres something. she makes such an alive performance. love it.
by devia you can smell the effort. I don't like that. Hartelius is neautiful, but a little conventional to me. again, I'am Dessay fan.
Aiken loses control on the tricky highwire walk near the end -- interpreted almost hysterical like the Q of the Night? Orgonsaova is very solid, nothing to criticize there! Harelius near to ideal in voice, style, looks. And yes, I agree with ildivino83 that The Great Devia does sound a bit harsh here, with a tightness on top (first aria -- just warming up?). I don't like the way Dessay plays with so much rubato, to me it throws the aria off kilter.
Devia sounds a bit shrill at the top, which is really surprising. I've only heard her in a few roles from Mozart's operas, and I don't really care for her voice in this type of coloratura. I don't think she's suited for the role. Dessay KILLS IT! She sounds so incredibly fierce! Frankly, I don't think anyone does Mozartian coloratura like Dessay, and there's no better actress on the stage today.....
Orgonasova sounded lovely. I really like her top a lot. Hartelius sounded really dulcet, although I prefer her as a Blonchen, I think she's truly the epitome of a good Mozartian soprano. I prefer her execution far better than Schäfer, who I normally find sloppy....
@gustopheles I agree but what does one do when the conductor instists?

What's up with Dessay's added fiorature? Nothing is more superfluous than embellishing Costanze's arias.

I have to disagree with you in about Dessay being the best actress today. I prefer Diana Damrau
