With English subtitles, this is the movie version performed by Lung KimSung and Mui SuitSee. (龍剑笙,梅雪诗) pupils of Ms Yam Kim-Fei and Ms Bak Suit-Sin. (任剑辉,白雪仙) who starred in the original black and white movie version. It is my pleasure to upload this clip with the theme song for my friends here, especially those who are not conversant in Cantonese.

  • 谢谢!look楼梯好正!

  • Thank you, thank you thank you! How kind & thoughtful of you to add English subtitles,it's a real treat to listen to Cantonese opera & read the subtitles.

  • Welcome, welcome, welcome. I am glad the subtitles make it enjoyable for you. Incidentally, this is a film transfer from the movie release of 1977 and the movie distributors had already printed subtitles inherently in the VCD release. I cannot take credit for that. :-))

  • Very nice! Thank you so much for sharing. :):)

  • Thanks, rather, for YOUR encouragement!

  • Hello Jeremy

A few minutes ago, I saw this video with English translation. Thank you, I add it to my favourites.

  • Yes, I agree with you. My mum used to watch these movies and listen to the sound track on radio. At that time, to us, kids, the music was to say the least "jarring" to the ears and the lyrics quite incomprehensible!

  • Thank you Jeremy for this taste of Chinese culture in which I am very interested. However I have to say that to this Westerner, the beautiful costumes and sets are more appealing than the music to which it is more difficult I think for Westerners, used to a very different musical tradition, to become accustomed.
