@Retroken3 - Considering that we are the only nation in the world to land a man on the moon and send successful probes to mars, I'd say we're making dreams a reality.

Sorry but listen to this, neighbor from my west (I'm a German, living in the USA): The European Nations like the BeNeLux-Nations, GB, or others broadcast more crap than the US channels. And even worse: It not normal tv! Its only gossip! The US, they've got dreams! Europe hasn't. Dreams of flying outer space, to other planets, dreams of the old greek and dreams of your first belgian astronaut, Frank de Winne (he would'nt have been in space without NASA/Roskosmos!) Thanks!

Im a huge supporter of Obama, but cutting funding for these programs is a big mistake! I say cut useless defense spanding and put it into deep space exploration. Private corporations don't make innovations unless it benefits their profit margine. Not every great discovery stems directly from immediate profit! This is an area where the government role is undeniable.

What people need to remember is that Constellation was never funded properly. Now we have a program that cannot possibly deliver. The Augustine Panel found that there is no way that the Ares I can be done on time to service the ISS, and that there is no way Constellation can reach the moon within a reasonable time.
What Obama did is follow the recommendations of the Augustine Panel, increase NASA's budget, and give it a realistic mission that can be accomplished with the available funds.
