This is meant to familiarize new VHI F-16 owners with their aircraft, as well as provide potential customers with a taste of what it's like to fly. The beginning is probably only interesting for new owners, so non-owners might wish to fast forward to 4:01. (Unless you want to see the setup and HUD intro.)

Contents: Introduction to the F-16 Nimbus, including setup, HUD intro, flight, aerobatics, AOA gauge, etc.

  • what game is that?

  • Second Life

  • Heheh lol. :) At least make the tail light flash white instead of red, just like the real thing. It's nice to have an F-16 in Second Life but still it's nothing compared to a real sim like Falcon 4.

  • There are two, one is red and the other white. I did not know that at the time I put it together. I will fix it if I make another release.

  • One red and one white in yours you mean? Cause the real plane only has a white one.

    Good luck :)

  • AFAIK for night operations the usual practice is to use (on the tail) a pulsating red beacon and a sold white light. That is how the tail is set up on the civil aircraft I have flown. Maybe they don't have to bother on the F-16 because it is military but I'd think they would.

  • cool game...

  • if i fly it over a city, will my friends see me?

  • Some other things you might find interesting... If you do a google search on "f-16 lighting", you see a PDF from goodrich-lighting, in which you can see a picture of the real anti collision light.

Another website you may find interesting is xflight. de (maybe click on the american flag to change the language) then go to Original > Parts > Left Console > Ext Lighting. That's where the pilot sets the external lighting.

  • Yes normal planes have a red tail light, I am 100% sure that the F-16 only has 1 light on top of its tail, called the Anti Collision Light, and it's white. You can clearly see it in this Red Viper video:

There is also a tail light between the tail and the engine (just below the break parachute housing) which is also white.

  • wow these graphics are so cool!!!
