  • The BA sets are in brackets behind the firefighter- they are able to put them on enroute to an emergency, but health and safety restrictions mean this is no longer allowed, as they must have their seat belts on at all times, they are also no longer allowed to don their firefighting gear on the way to a call

  • Im from stratclyde fire and rescue and i can safely say thts not really typical for us lol

  • @chizz32 as it was a video I can see why they did that. but You know as well as I do, if it wasn't being filmed they would probably break the rules to be that bit faster ! Cool Video Thanks

  • @999Dempsey Good for you! H&S dictators seem to have no sense of proportion.

  • 15 minutes with one of these wood frame houses in the US and the whole lot would be on the ground.

  • @chizz32 Its a crazy world when H&S law dictates we cant rig on the way as its not safe, yet when we turn up are happy for us to go into a burning building following a DRA. However as long as I have a hole in my arse I will be instrucring my chaps to rig onroute for house fires, and if some H&S zealot with his clipboard and hi viz on has a problem with that we can 'discuss' it when I come off duty :)

  • fire scares the shit out of me nothing but panic sets in when its in ur hosue uncrotallable. get the fuck out and call the fire brigade

  • @FireBuff51 everyone but the driver can, the scba's are mounted into a bracket into the back of the seat, so basically the back rest of the seat is your scba. as an american firefighter with a scottish wife, ive been to many fire houses in scotland, you guys are always welcoming, stay safe

  • @firemanjoni Well, rather than shoot the teacher correct the teacher instead. Describe to us a basic outline of what you think happens.

  • @chizz32 How mad is that! I'm amazed Health & Safety allows them to go near a fire or any other hazard or incident they deal with without writing a full report first. It's also worth mentioning that fire service people don't just put out fires, they do a lot of other work like dealing with chemical spills, cutting people out of crashed cars, visits to people to install smoke alarms, education in schools etc. They do a really good job, it's not something I would like to do!

  • This is nothing like what happens at a 'typical fire in scotland'

This video is embarrassing, watching it makes me cringe!
