Words and music by Grant Garland

They've cleared off the dance floor, the house lights are on,
She's left to the quiet, now the folks are all gone,
She's got her routine and tables to clear,
A heavy sigh, she feels alright, her work here is done.
She thinks of tomorrow, the same as tonight,
The Fridays the Saturdays, an unchanging sight,
The dark silhouettes are the same shape again,
She moves with the smoke as her light seems to dim.
She's driving home with the moon in her eyes,
And oh how she misses watching the sun rise,
She prays for the best and she lays down to rest,
She's a morning girl working for the night.
She stands against the back wall as the shadows pour in,
She breathes in the music, it's the same tune again,
When the long night is over her thoughts still run deep
She hides from the silence, she drinks 'til she sleeps.
It's hard to remember what drove her to this,
The sacrifice to find a life that left her remiss,
She needs a beginning 'cause her story just goes,
Another day, a little pay, another night comes to close.
She's driving home with determination to not let,
Her empty apartment get filled with regret,
She can't fight the tears after so many years,
She's a morning girl living for the night.
You should see her in the sun,
Her beauty shines on everyone,
And in her heart still beats a dream,
Of brighter days she'll one day see.
She's driving home with the moon in her eyes,
And Lord how she missed watching the sun rise,
Little girl awake before your heart finally breaks,
Oh morning girl never lose your way,
Be a morning girl who wakes to find the day.
Finally .... got a video for this song.. Beautiful Grant!!!! :)
