The "butt wink" or pelvis rollunder at the bottom of the squat is often attributed to poor flexibility however the real culprit is poor motor control of the hips on the descent. Engaging the hip flexors and actively closing the hip angle using muscular control can eliminate the butt wink without any change in flexibility.

  • great vid, thanks for posting this

  • Excellent! If videos like these were popular there would be a lot less back pain.

  • Let us not speak of it as the "butt wink"

  • About how many times do you suggest these squat for each rep and also , Will this exercise just tone or also help reduce the weight on the hips?
