"Just because the graphics are better doesn't mean the game is better" Classic Game Room HD reviews G.I. Joe Cobra Strike, the video game, for the Atari 2600.

YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO JOE! Fighting for freedom over land and air, GI Joe is there! GI JOE!!!!!!!! A real American Hero! Step to the real and fight Cobra with this video game... but does it keep it real?

This rare Atari 2600 game uses the paddle controllers as you fight Cobra Commander, Serpentor, Destro, Zartan and the Baroness... sort of.

In this review we talk about GI Joe and some memorable characters that don't appear in the game like Rock N' Roll, Roadblock, Scarlet and Shipwreck. Is GI Joe better than other 80's cartoons classics like Transformers, Thundercats, Voltron, Robotech, Silverhawks, Tranzor Z, Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors, The Galaxy Rangers or He-Man?

Check out the entire season of Classic Game Room HD where the classic arcade games of the past face off vs. the newest shooters and games for the PS3 and Xbox 360! Toon!

Be sure to watch the original Classic Game Room episodes. Classic Game Room was the original classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999-2000, now on DVD.

  • This game is better than the movie.

  • EXCELLENT Review! I loved it. I remember getting this game as a kid and being so excited. My experience was similar to that of the narrator. Great review! Also, the hottest Joe Girl was Lady Jaye.

  • This game was actually pretty good. It was playable by 3 players simultaneously. One controlled the guns, one the shield, and one the cobra. Most fun was with two players against the console controlled cobra. We liked it back then. Was kinda different.

  • wasn't there a good gi joe game for the master system? hmm.. maybe it was nintendo... but i remember you could select snake eyes.

  • You do one simple & short thing in this game. Your Bonus? Do it again with a snake that is a different color... and to think back then, some people had black & white TVs so they got screwed from that bonus(if it can be called that). Makes me remember that my first bedroom TV was B&W and when you turned it off, a little dot would stay in the middle of the screen for what seemed like several minutes before it would completely disappear.

Not the best game on 2600.

  • geez man for atari what do you expect? too high expectations.

  • I actually had ALOT of these games you review. I think I have over 200 now.

  • @jtomally9681 - oh okay... well, I didn't know. I watched WWF since probably the mid 80's.. and was born in 79'. I don't remember him in WWF until probably after the mid 80's... I think I remember him in the late 80's. I thought it was funny how they made him have muscles in the cartoon but in reality he was pretty flabby..lol! Now THAT's what I remember.

  • @neetrab Sgt. Slaughter was a wrestler for years before G. I. Joe came out in the '80s.

  • @ExilePrime - "Lady Jay , hands down ." --- TOTALLY agree!! TOTALLY!! That was my girl!

  • haha! Baroness was hot??? LOL! Well, I guess. She was more of a funny character in my opinion w/ her relationship w/ destro.

  • @jtomally9681 - remember when Sgt. Slaughter became a real guy and ended up on WWF? LOL!!
