  • I would give my pinkie to meet and marry a girl that looks exactly like this girl. And I'm a guitarist, so I need both of my pinkies!

    Excerpt from NY Post: 5/2/68:

"Edie Sedgwick: Where the Road Led"

Edie S., the 1965 girl. After Baby Jane Holzer and before Viva. Youthquaker! Superstar! The girl Warhol was never w/out. She flickered thru half his movies and went to all the parties w/him. A call to Warhol revealed this:

"I don't really know where she is, we were really never close." (he's reminded by the caller that they used to be together a lot), "Well, she went w/Albert Grossman, Dylan's manager. I never knew her".

  • her smile is amazing. look at those dimples!!

  • @MsReffinej Yes, that's what I think also. Edie never mentions Dylan at all, and the "Bob" that's mentioned is, as you said, Bob Neuwirth. Another person that she was obsessed with was Paul America. Whatever happened, I love her so much! She truly was one of a kind.

  • @MowgliX -There are a few songs IMO, on the album "Blonde on Blonde", that have Edie written all over them. I read her bio, one summer and they had a fling, according to the contributors to this book. But, the movie "Factory Girl", totally blows it out of proportion. I think they took Bob Neuwirth's relationship with her and mixed that in with Dylan. ??

All speculation..the ones that know either don't talk about it, or can't.

  • Interesting girl.

  • @MowgliX true.

  • @spaceghost30082 It's true Edie was a rich socialite who did too many drugs, and maybe she didn't accomplish much. But – and this is the thing that makes her special – she was fabulous at just being herself, the dazzling, blindingly beautiful and very charming Edie.

  • @MsReffinej Yeah, and Dylan's "Like A Rolling Stone", probably. Though it might have been written earlier, the lyrics seem to have been written just for Edie. And of course "Femme Fatale" by the Velvet Underground.

  • @MowgliX love what a many splendored thing! thanx! happy new year!
