  • Interesting. I am new to YouTube and actually just joined because I see there are lots of preheat fluorescent fixture fans on there. Yall would LOVE my collection! Literally HUNDREDS of preheat fixtures. My entire 4500 square foot shop is filled with 2 and 3 lamp 40 watt preheat fixtures I salvaged from an old cotton mill.

  • I would love to get hold of some of them :)

  • This is like the mini-me version of a full sized striplight! I like how the starter glows for awhile before it contacts and heats the electrodes. Cool video, buddy!

  • Yeah, It is because it is an FS-2 and it is supposed to have and FS-5 I put this one because you can see the glow better. Now if i could find an older neon starter....

  • That was fun to watch Andrew , Yes you do have the magic touch .

My 1st thought was you were going to manually preheat it with a pair of scissors or something similar.

    Keep the video`s coming !!!

    I find them Intertaining :)

  • Thank you! I am glad you enjoyed it! I try to make my videos, somewhat entertaining :)

  • Road trip! My collection is huge and getting bigger1 I would gladly share with a fellow enthusiast!

  • I also have quire a collection of rare and very old preheat fixtures in various sizes, from the 4 watt one like listed here to a 2 lamp F90T17 preheat. It is a classic! Most of mine are in use in my house, shop, barn and sheds. I have always been totally fluorescent. I look forward to checking out yall's interesting lights!

  • I know how to run a mercury vapour light off of a fluorescent magnetic ballast and adaptor from a 240 to a plc type fluorescent bulb. All you need to do is get two wires put them in the wholes, get E27 fitting or E26 or E40/39 depending on what lamp you've got and then wire up to a fitting, put your mercury vapour light in the fitting and make sure the wires are touching the adaptor and then fire. :)

  • andrew i have been emailing you but you never respond
