  • Heard this at Kaufman Kamp this year. Jens talked about the slience between the notes. That little break of quiet in the middle he let go on for five seconds. Seemed forever and no one in the audience made a sound. It was eerily quiet. Then on they went. At the end, sudden huge applause, standing ovation. A moving moment. But it was played in front of audience of musicians who really "got it" Glad I was there.

  • Brings a tear into youre eye

  • Jens makes his banjo sound like a classical instrument, which in his hands, it is!

  • This song reminds me, that just like life...it's not always the "noise" we make, but the silence between the notes that speaks volumes.

  • Hi...

Not a dumb question at all. It is an acoustic bass guitar made by Tom Ribbecke of RGC in California. The model is the Bobby Vega Halfling bass. Thanks for asking...

    The guy in the back...

    Joel

  • Dumb question time. What is the bass instrument the guy in the back is playing? Is it just an over large guitar or does it have a specific name?

  • Jens is a beautiful player

  • i love it. I can tell even just from your description, that there were some real musicians and music lovers in that audience. Not to make a sound for that long, that means they get it! my music teacher always told me it's more about the space between your notes than what you actually play. this song is a perfect example.
