Hope that KC attains AT LEAST the FM title soon. Perhaps KC does not play in enough FIDE tournaments and does not gain enough practice in such tournaments.

If you play lower ranked players, then you have everything to lose and little to gain if you win. By getting draws and odd wins against masters, you gain points- as you did in the british champs.

Yes it is good to have the chance to take out higher rated players. Due to the accelerated pairing used at Gibraltar, and not starting off too well, I only played one titled play there. Compared to 7 (!) in the London Classic.
