That's amazing! It's like the horse suddenly realized what this racing thing was all about and finally got it into his head to start trying. Or maybe it's a new jockey. 50 to 1 odds is insane though.

I wonder, since MTB is a gelding, they can never retire him to stud, so if he gets too old or is injured, what the hell happens to this horse? By the way, this announcer stunk.

By my comment,I did not mean the horse was not good. I do not know the horses. I just meant that if I were betting as a novice I would not mind putting a few dollars on a 50 to one especially if I knew of the jockey. I agree with you Mine that bird was fabulous in that race.Since I live in Louisiana- I do know of the jockey.----------------------------------------------------.

While, obviously the jockey is very good, he can only be as good as the horse. Mine That Bird did the running, and left the rest flat footed and far behind. No jockey could make him do that. He's a very good horse, fortunate to have a very good jockey.
