folk and Celtic music pre-date christianity, it's rhythm's and melodies hark back to shamanism, although, like the having a tree at christmas and the yule log ( both borrowed from the yule pagan festval, and the use of the Yew tree), Oh and christmas day which is the winter solstace, I am quite happy these traditons and spirits live on.
