A Dream Come True ~ Ch. 6

When a dream is in the process of coming true, bliss is all around. You start to build hope and all the doubt seems to wash away. But there is no such thing as perfection... so you know that something might end up bringing it all down.

"Here it is."
"Wow. Joe, it's beautiful." We were standing at the edge of this cliff. It overlooked the ocean. It really was beautiful. "Thanks, Joe."
I smiled at her. "My pleasure. Let's sit down."

We both sat on the grass facing each other. I opened the picnic basket and handed her some food. She happily took it and immediately started eating. I grabbed some too and ate. I noticed how fast Abigail was eating. It was crazy. I was just staring at her. Not the 'wow, this chick is a freak' stare though. More like a 'wow, this girl is awesome' stare.

She noticed me looking and quickly swallowed. Suddenly, she stood up and started running away. "Where are you going?" I quickly got up and ran after her. I grabbed her by the waist and turned her around to face me. I wrapped my arms around her and held her close. "Abigail, what's wrong?"
"I'm sorry." She put her hands on my arms and looked down.
"Why? You haven't done anything wrong."
"Didn't you see me?! I was eating like a pig! I'm sorry."
I smiled down at her. "Not like a pig. You were fine. I really don't care. Come on. Let's keep eating."

She slowly smiled and walked back with me. After eating, we started talking some more. I told her about yesterday's incident with my parents and she said she was proud of me for standing up to them. That made me smile. I couldn't help but notice that I was totally liking Abigail. She made me feel... I don't know. Just different.

"I should get going. My mom will be worried," Abigail noted.
I grabbed her hands. "No. At least stay for the sunset."
She smiled but shook her head. "I'm sorry, Joe. I really have to go."
"Please. Pretty please?" I gave her a puppy dog look that made her laugh. What an adorable laugh.
"Fine, you win."
"Yay!" She giggled and we sat down, looking over everything. I looked over at Abigail and she looked glorious with the sun's rays hitting her. I had this weird feeling inside again and I looked back at the sunset. Wow. I guess I really, REALLY liked her. Scratch that. I knew I really liked her.

I scooted over to Abigail's side and gently nudged her. "What are you thinking about?"
"Just... stuff. Life and love and you."
"Me?! Really?!"
She giggled at my excitement. "You're so cute." My eyes widened and she realized what she had just said. "I mean, uh... that wasn't supposed to come out." Her cheeks were red and I laughed.
"I don't mind. I think you're pretty cute too." She blushed an even deeper red and looked towards the sunset again. I didn't think she was just cute. She was beautiful and sometimes angelic.

The sunset didn't last long and we started heading back. "So Abigail... I was wondering if you would like to meet with me again tomorrow." I looked over at her in the light from the moon.
"I'd like that. When?"
"How about a bit earlier this time? Say noon-ish?"
She giggled that heart-stopping giggle of hers. "I'm pretty sure that's not a word but okay. Noon-ish it is."

Was it just me or was this girl perfect? We kept talking in the dark night and were almost out of the forest when something stopped us and I was definitely not ready for this.

What stopped them? How will tomorrow go for them?

By the way guys, I know this is set in the old Disney time or whatever but I have no clue what they talk like so they are going to talk just like we would. Sorry about that. And um, yeah that's it. And seriously Eca, I'm still the same just not when I write. You'll see.
