Biggest hit written by pianist Peter DeRose who broadcast, 1923-1939, with Mary Singhi as "The Sweethearts of the Air" on the NBC radio network. Published in 1933 as a piano composition. Became so popular in sheet music sales that Mitchell Parish added lyrics in 1938. The tune was a favorite of Baby Ruth. Recast in 1957 as a doowop classic by The Dominoes.

  • Wonderful! I too am happy to find this on YouTube. It is an old family favorite. My mom (1913-1989) played hundreds of pieces of sheet music from the 20s - 40s, and this was one of her and my Dad's favorites. Takes me back to the days when I as a young boy and my parents and older siblings would gather at the piano after supper and sing for an hour or so to our mother's piano music. Thank you for posting this!

  • Bing hit this one out of the park. Brilliant video. Thanks.
