I got really bored, so I'm uploading my band's performence at Festival 2008. Just to let you know, the march that you're going to hear is the cheesiest march on this planet...but I'm uploading it anyway. So, here's Them Basses!

  • Cheesy? Dumb comment. Let the lower brass get a chance to carry the melody for once. This is a nice march for a military band. I agree the wind part is pretty boring. But it's a nice break after playing something like Brooke's Chicago Marine Band March. This is a pretty nice band that recorded this. Correct march tempo, not some nonsense tempo.

  • 6000 views and no dislike, gooood

  • I say national emblem is better

  • I'd much rather hear a march at a tempo that allowed clean articulation and correct dynamics than to hear a band rushing through it at breakneck speed. This is a good tempo for marching.

  • just so everyone can know, yes it can be played really fast, but it is played this slow for marching bands

  • we played this last year in concert band in my highschool. it was alot faster hahahaha. and now all the tubas and low brass want to do is play it again =P

  • Ya know I like the slow tempo, Very Clean Articulations!!!! I'm gonna try that!!!

  • Nice and clean playing by the basses. But the winds have to learn this song is called "Them Basses" not "Them Woodwinds" and stop trying to overpower the lower brass. It can't be done and sounds unpleasant. Otherwise good job.

  • were playing that!!!!! we are playing it sooooo fast I PLAY BASS CLARINET ON IT!!

  • Getty Huffine left no instruction as to the tempo of this march. Circus bands tend to play it at a much quicker pace, but marching bands generally keep the tempo between 104 and 120.

BTW this isn't cheesy. It's one of the best marches, ever. Sounds of Peace...now there's a cheesy march.
