Jim Reeves recorded this song in October of 1959. Both he and his producer Chet Atkins were going to discard it but Jims wife Mary liked it and kept the tape. She later released it two years after Jims death. I remember well when it came out in 1966. I loved it from the first time that I heard it. I hope you guys like my attempt at singing this great old song.

  • @TheSunnyJim Thank you very much for your kind words. There are far better mic's to be had than the RCA 74b. But with a little eq-ing they do have a warm sound. If you are shopping for one be careful of "bargin" 74b's. Usually they will need a new ribbon and possibly other work to be functional. But you may get lucky also. I just like vintage mic's. Thank you again for your interest and I hope you will stop by again sometime and check out more of my old song covers.

  • Such a nice voice! I've found a couple of 74-B mics for right around $400 each, and your wonderful singing is making me want to purchase one. I'm not sure if it's the classic mic or your voice that sounds so rich and smooth. Well done.

  • @timwarneka Thank you again Tim. I do appreciate your support. This week marks my two year anniversary of posting my songs here on youtube. I hope that you and all the other wonderful folks who have been listening to my channel will continue to do so in this new year.

  • @terrisonb How very sad, sir. The world is a lesser place without your music. Rest assured that -- at least as long as YouTube allows you to post your music -- I'll be listening. Thanks again for explaining your signal chain to me. Best wishes ...
