4 people are that newspaper that endes up blowing under the train, as it departs the Station, 2 people are a rat and mouse that have been shocked by the third rail after scurrying around the tracks, and that last 1 person is one of the old Hawker Siddeley cars. Together they make 7 dislikes -_o

@Sulla2300 the old ones had to go because the salt air they encounter on most of their route had rotted out the undersides of most of them. i ride them quite often as i live about 5 minutes from the end of the blue lines route

@Stmtrolleyguy the old cars are gone by now

@RDG484 Thats soo cool that Boston Has Hawker Siddeley Trains too. In Toronto, you can do a Search on YouTube for it. But Now the Bombardier T-1s Dominate all the lines over here in Toronto. Currently The oldest Subway cars for us is the Hawker Siddeley H-4. But the Largest Fleet of hawkers is the H-5s. (Thanks God there still in Service still).

I read that the Hawker-Siddley cars were supposed to be moved over to the Orange line. Has that happened? Those cars are too modern to be replaced so soon.

Those plans fell through long ago.
The cars are too rusted and rotten due to the salt air by the ocean. The cars are being stripped and scrapped.
Motor and truck parts are going towards the Orange Line cars, controll parts are going to some of the Red Line cars.

I visit New England and Boston quite often. The new trains are like tin cans. The old ones are much more comfortable. In fact when I see new ones, i just stay and wait for an old one. I shouldn't worry though, the old ones will be around for a while. Just look at the red line.

I like how much quieter the new cars are, but I have to agree that they are very uncormfortable to ride in. The seats have no shape to them, and try and dump you out onto the floor and slam you into your neighbor when going around a curve. Otherwise, I think the new blue line cars are really nice.
