Michael Moore calmly admits that he doesn't mind people downloading his movies.

By the way, as a courtesy to Michael Moore, I advise all to check out his new movie on cinemas now:

  • amen to that :) at least some artists are fucking honest *cough* lily allien

  • I believe Lily gave up on this filesharing debate because she couldn't handle the abuse that was appearing on her blog.

As if her tunes were worth a penny to anyone ! ?

She's too lazy to get a real job and is helping to "entertain the nation" (brainwash the nation) by appearing in tabloids every other day, along with other rich kids, desperate for friends.

  • hell yea!

  • The problem is if too much sharing occurs, then the movies can't even be made anymore. The same is true with MM. If we all just dld his films, hed of made the movies for no reason, and probably would be broke. But I agree that it isnt necessarily wrong for people to share things. They just need to understand that it's better to buy them and continue to compensate those that make them (so they can make more!). The industry does need to stop acting like a complete victim though.

  • Good on him!

  • He doesn't really object to copyright laws or software sharing, he just wants to spread his bullshit movies to as many people as possible.

  • well spoked.

  • He's absolutely right, there is the freedom to share information, and then if you like it, you pay for it. I don't know if you all know that people with good music may start giving it freely and then when they get fans and people liking it, they pay for it, that happens in Brazil for example.

  • I think a majority of people who do get this stuff for free, who actually enjoy it, or take something from it - they do go out and buy it to support the people who made it. Exception is probably a majority in Russia. It's pretty common for most there to be using pirate versions of Windows, and Windows software like the Office suites. Adobe software, Apple, along with video games, movies, music...

... it's only recently that laws have come in there to stop (optimistically - lol - halve) it.

  • moore is an idiiot

  • 2 ALL HOLLYWOOD SO CALLED STARS IF U SUPPORT SOPA U ARE NO LONGER A STAR AND NOW U ALL WILL BE BOYCOTTED NONE OF YOUR FANS WILL WATCH YOUR SHIT NO MORE U DID IT TO YOURSELVES GHOST! NOT YOUR FAN ANYONE OF U WHO SUPPORT SOPA I AM FREEDOM GHOST!

  • His chosen model of 'friends sharing a book or DVD' is a redundant analogy for digital file sharing online.

It would only be correct if his analogy was a person sharing his DVD, digitally, with thousands (or even millions) of strangers.

If that's his understanding of online file sharing then it's incredibly wide of the mark.
