After I posted Mario's E lucevan le Stelle I thought, why not post the entire act? Well here we have part 2.

Tosca and Mario dare to dream of a future away and happy in the duet O dolci mani.

Floria Tosca - Raina Kabaivanska
Mario Cavaradossi - Flaviano Labo

NHK Lirica Italiana - 1973
Conductor - Oliviero De Fabritiis
1973 Tokyo

you talkin about Mario Lanza or Mario Cavaradossi?

  • A class tenor, but always overshadowed by his counterparts ie Di Stefano, Del Monaco, Corelli,

    Giacomini, Kraus,

  • Wow. This is one of the most beautiful versions of this duet I've ever heard. The combination of the elegant phrasing of Labo and the pianissimos of Kabaivanska is wonderful. They are also really good actors.
