This will guide you through the process of dropping multiple JDAMs on multiple targets in DCS A-10C's open beta. The instruction includes the following steps:

- Marking targets with the LITENING II pod.
- Saving markpoints into a new flight plan using the CDU
- Engaging saved targets in a single run.

No idea if this method is the "proper" one, nor how widely used, but it is the one that works for me, and I like being able to cache markpoints in different flight plans for later retrieval.

You can pre-purchase DCS A-10C and gain access to the open beta at http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com .

  • Does this game have a tutorial that you can walk through explaining the functions of the aircraft? I love aircraft sims but never got into the technical side never mind the military aspect of this.

  • @Frostman182 Yes, there are tutorial missions that explain the basics.

  • Release cue? Where? How did you know exactly when to drop your bombs?

  • @BPond7 You'll see a MAN REL flash on the HUD when you're in the release window. Read the manual to learn about how and when to release the JDAMs.

  • How do you change views in this simulation? Like zooming in etc... Do you use Track-IR or anything?

  • @affggff TrackIR 4. Hoping to get a 5 at some point.

  • how do i delete markpoints i dont need anymore? thanks a lot

  • Amazing game this is.

  • Hey, where is that paert of the map you are flying on? I've never seen a desert in DCS A-10C :O

  • I wonder why the extra step with the flight plan. Once I have the desired markpoints in my CDU, i could simply put the left dial below the CDU from FLT PLAN to MARK. Then I could cycle through them with DMS Up/Down with the HUD being SOI. For each I simply have to press China Hat up long to set my SPI to my steerpoint (which will be one of the markpoints previously designated) and off the bomb goes. Also possible with Mavericks and it is easier to do as the launch window is larger/longer.

  • Could you set up a ripple sequence and drop all of your ordnance simultaneously, provided the target window contains all of your targets? That would reduce your workload and increase the number of bombs you could get off.

  • Hi ehs, now you did this with the GBU 31 or 38 (GPS guided munition), but laser GBUs don't follow the same principle, specially if the targets are too far apart. I like 20000 feet AGL as a release point, heck I even do a circle around the targets and to my surprise, they're only moving when the missile or bomb hits one of them *weird*

  • @TwistedComplex GBU-12's use a laser to track. GBU-31 and 38's use GPS coordinates so you can drop multiple bombs as the same time.
