  • I think he sounds more like Dean Martin.

  • c'mon sugar bear is supposed to be a black man....

  • Sugar Bear was probally the smoothest talking rep for any cereal.

Of course his competition was the trix rabbit, Sonny the coco bird, Lucky of lucky charms etc.

  • Out of luck, my truck got stuck.

  • "Someone save my life tonight, Sugar Bear." - Elton John

  • I NEVER liked Sugar Crisp cereal. I mean c'mon, it was packaged in a foil package and the cereal would get sticky and stick together if it had a whiff of air for a split second. Worst cereal ever made.....................

  • Gerry Matthews was the Bing Crosby-esque voice of "Sugar Bear" in the '60s and '70s [even before "LINUS THE LIONHEARTED" (1964-'69), where the Bear and his fellow Post cereal icons appeared in their own cartoon series, sponsored and owned by General Foods, the company behind Post]. For a time, though, Sugar Bear stopped sounding like Crosby when the latter threatened to sue General Foods for "appropriating" his well-known voice without his permission.
