I NEVER liked Sugar Crisp cereal. I mean c'mon, it was packaged in a foil package and the cereal would get sticky and stick together if it had a whiff of air for a split second. Worst cereal ever made.....................
Gerry Matthews was the Bing Crosby-esque voice of "Sugar Bear" in the '60s and '70s [even before "LINUS THE LIONHEARTED" (1964-'69), where the Bear and his fellow Post cereal icons appeared in their own cartoon series, sponsored and owned by General Foods, the company behind Post]. For a time, though, Sugar Bear stopped sounding like Crosby when the latter threatened to sue General Foods for "appropriating" his well-known voice without his permission.
I think he sounds more like Dean Martin.

Sugar Bear was probally the smoothest talking rep for any cereal.
Of course his competition was the trix rabbit, Sonny the coco bird, Lucky of lucky charms etc.
