Fire Alarm

as i was waiting for the subway to arrive on my way home, the fire alarm went off out of nowhere. everyone was running away from the platform to the subway gates, and the station staff were frantically getting everyone out. i have no idea why it rang, but there was a mass panic and a swarm of people running for their lives. since the alarm message was in Japanese, i couldn't understand that it was just a simple fire alarm...

プラットホーム内で火災が発生しました。落ち着いて避難してください。

a fire has broken out on the platform. please calmly go to a safe area.

but to me, in my terrible Japanese and seeing everyone bolting for the stairs, it sounded more like "OMG! GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE! WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE!!!!!!"

drinking a huge cold refreshing beer, and happy that i didn't get killed by an out of control train, or an attack from Godzilla. that was definitely the scariest fire alarm i've ever heard!

@wesleyramakers so you mean in your country the elevator doesn't proceed to a ground floor, open the door and just stay in that position? It will just stop and the door won't open?

@chris40539 we have annoying slow whoops who are verry loud :D and in my country.. if you have bad luckand are in a elevator whit fire service.. and alarm goes off the car stopps inmidently and enters fire service which requeres a fucking key to get out of the elevator and get it back in your controll :/ luckly i got one.. lmao

damn! in toronto people generally don't budge when they hear an alarm... unless somebody says on the intercom 'listen, guys, this is a real alarm, get out'  hahaha.
