Laura Glen Louis reads "An Exacting Man," written in honor of Alfred Peet, founder of Peet's Coffee & Tea, and originally delivered at his memorial at the Berkeley City Club in 2007. This video is from a benefit reading at Grace North Church, Fond Farewell. Louis is the author of "Talking in the Dark," (Harcourt, 2001), an acclaimed collection of short fiction.

  • A genuine reading of this moving poem. Beautiful lyricism.

  • I enjoyed seeing Laura closer up than where I was sitting during her live reading. A musical---even slightly danced--- reading of a lovely tribute to Alfred Peet.

  • Wow. Beautiful, exacting words to pinpoint what can't be pinpointed - the complexities of man. Laura Louis reads her work as if it is music - with incredible rhythm.
