For those of you who couldn't grasp the huge importance of this speak because it wasn't delivered in perfect or proper form, I pity your shallow and elitist minds. You don't understand, at all, the point of TED talks.

these thoughts you talk about are yours. I said none of that, nor implied it.

Basically, you're assuming that every one of these little girls just lays down and waits for it and that there is no such thing as a little girl, a child, fighting back and losing? That's ridiculous

First of all, it's a wild flying leap of an assumption. Secondly, you are expecting children to make adult decisions and think like adullts. Third, having hard times in life alone is not enough to make you tough. Deciding that children should not be protected isn't tough. It's misery seeking company

You expect them to lay there, passively obedient? Yes, I expect them to fight back, with intensity and purpose. Fend off? is that the right phrase? What are you trying to get out of me?

So, having fought and lost before, you still expect children in Africa to be able to fend off grown men?

I lose a lot. I've lost everything I've ever had and everyone I've ever loved. Charge away, I can take it.

How is that you have done all this fighting without learning that sometimes you lose? I don't believe you.

Wow. I have been trying to decide whether or not to major in education for over a year now, and this video just decided it for me. The reason I hesitate is because I remember being in school... nobody there wanted to learn. So I worry that I would be wasting my efforts if I get a very high degree in education. Now it has occurred to me: get a doctorate. If nobody here wants to be educated, I will find someone who does and make it possible for them.
