3:25. The instrumental here is stunning and unlike anything I've ever heard. And the upbeat flute solo that follows is out of this world!
I'm downloading this one tomorrow...

sorry ... "each step is one half of a lifetime" .... doubly poignant

"each step is half a lifetime" ... beginning to feel this as I get older.

The flute solo in this song is magnificent.

The switch at 5.05 to the flute solo... pure sex!

@robertleeluben The song "Heavy Horses" is another feature song for Barlow. He definitely pulls my focus on the drums on that one too.

@robertleeluben I had to log in just to tell you that's 100% right. I'm mystified by his work with Tull. If anybody ever made me want to be a drummer, he did. Put his stamp on Tull during those years. Incredible Drummer!

Barriemore Barlow was simply incredible, I don't think SFTW would have been the same without him.
one of the best albums (if not THE BEST): Songs From The Wood
both lyrically and musically

This is one of the rare songs that transposes lyric and music and makes them one. I know what the man is feeling when he is thinking of his happy days with his woman when I hear the "happy interlude" I know how he feels when he sees the slippers in the window by what happens next in the music. Not many songs can do that. I love this song!
