  • I had Windows Messenger 4.7 on my Windows XP netbooks as it came with the operating system. But I uninstalled it. Because it will not let you log into it. Instead I got an error message telling me to upgrade to Windows Live Messenger. But this was not just a Windows XP issue. The same thing happened when I installed Windows Messenger 4.7 on Windows 7. Probably because it is no longer supported. Andrea Borman.
