Flevo Alleweder a Dutch built velomobile is ridden on the streets of Stevenson Ranch, California. This machine is human powered, no engine or motor. There is no frame. The construction is from riveted sheet aluminum creating a monococ chassis. The bike has suspension on all three wheels. The drivetrain consists of a two speed Schlumpf gearbox on the crank and a 7 speed freewheel in back. This machine is a 1995 model. I bought it used online and the seller shipped it to me. Similar machines are still being produced in Midland, Texas. See http://velomobileusa.com/

  • Hmm...it looks like it is going quite fast! May i know what is your avg speed on the roads?

  • @boharihamen On level ground about 18-22 mph.

  • I guess it wasn't designed with rainy days in mind... It just seems a bit odd that the vehicle's designer cared to insulate the rider's body from the elements but not the rider's head...

  • @dharmanova the head out approach allows makes it easier to see and hear traffic. flevobike.nl makes a convertible roof with a windshield for more protection which can be used with this model.

  • Really nice video.

  • @Hamish121212 Thanks

  • @ninobur1 wow, you can ditch your car and ride it to work then! Nice job! Btw, are you thinking of putting in an electric motor inside your ride when you are tired? Juz a thought

  • I'm working my way around to a velomobile. After I finish fixing up a bakfiets ( 3-wheeled cargo bike)...

  • sorry but it is funny and cool and amazing

  • I would love to see all cars go away and these take over the road way.

  • Very cool. Myself and one of the coordinators of the across Michigan bike rides is interested in looking at velomobiles. I don't travel much, but I understand there is an owner near Kalamazoo, Michigan. How would I contact him?
