  • Thank you Eric. PALS are marching November 11, 2008 West Front Lawn of the Capitol Building, 10am - 4pm. Iplex is a drug that was pulled from the world market by Genentech and Tercica over a patent dispute. However, the Italian government was able to continue to deliver Iplex to Italian ALS patients. In 18 + months of treatment, Italian PALS are reporting stalling of progression of ALS. Please join us, tell Genentech that money cannot prevail over human lives. ?'s call Andrea 805-497-9844

  • Dear Eric, It is abhorrent that a drug exists which could alleviate or treat some of your symtoms and it is not being readily made available to you or other ALS sufferers in the USA, or Australia. I would urge the governments of the USA and Australia and the pharmaceutical companies involved, to expedite the release of this drug immediately. Sincerely, Jacqueline Pascarl, Author, and Patron, CARE International, UK.

  • thank you, eric.

  • Eric, I know and understand what you say. I was in 'Nam back in the 60's where the USA used WMD's or like Dubya was saying "WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION". The name was AGENT ORANGE. Many veterans suffer from MS, ALS, PALS, MS etc. So far...they just don't care. That's why I became very active in the "Viet Nam Vets against the War"

  • Eric, thank you for recording this. Your sincerity and integrity shine through, as does the beauty of your family.

The FDA needs to get out of drug efficacy and just look to safety. Once a drug is proven safe it should be up to the patient and doctor whether it is used. It's not just IPLEX, but so many other drugs (eg Provenge for prostate cancer...) that are being held up. Medical progress is impeded by careers, egos, statistical legalism, and greed.

God bless you! Fight the good fight!

  • Thanks Eric for telling us your story. The government in Australia should be providing IPLEX for our PALS Down Under - we also need help urgently.
