This is 'Winky's Walkway'. This is the 1st platform level in "Donkey Kong Country" for the Game Boy Color. It is the 1st level of Monkey Mines. It is the sixth level of the game.

There is only 1 bonus in this level.

This level features an Animal Buddy, known as Winky the Frog. He has the ability to jump high and defeat enemies, even Zingers. Surprisingly, Mini-Necky makes his debut in this level. This also makes the debut of the Oil Drums as well, though they only shoot out Gnawtys. Watching out for enemies and avoiding the bottomless pit is the way to pass the level.

There are 2 changes in this level from the SNES and Game Boy Advance versions.

- The music in platform levels is the same, but it's longer from the SNES and Game Boy Advance versions. It's also slower.

- This level has been extended. In the SNES and Game Boy Advance versions, it's shorter.

NOTE: If anyone is wondering how I was able to jump on the first Necky without any problems, it's simple. You have to roll, and then jump. If you try to jump on that Necky without rolling first, you will get hit almost every time, and by far, it's the worst way to be defeated like that. Apparently, the hit detection isn't that good in this version. So make sure you roll first, and then jump. It makes you jump slightly higher, and it's useful, too.

  • Wow, data restrictions really take away the potential. I'm not complaining, the videos good, it's just that this looks a whole lot different from the SNES version.

  • Of course. The level has been extended.
