You have a very narrow understanding of sound economics. The gov't should focus on nothing of the sort. They should focus on getting the hell out of the way of the free market and let it's proven success work as long as it isn't restricted and regulated by the Feds. (Ex. Community Reinvestment Act) Why are you so concerned with the "rich getting richer"? Are you one of these who think that when the rich get richer, the poor get poorer? Since when has the government EVER gotten out of the economy? Trickle-down economics is government intervention in the economy, just as is trick-up economics. What I am saying is trickle-up economics focuses on stimulating spending, which stimulates economic growth and job development.
