In advance of tomorrows stimulus announcement by the Obama Administration, the CBS Evening News aired a report tonight on the dubious jobs claims already made by the White House. The piece cites an Associated Press analysis that the Administration has overstated by thousands the number of jobs created or saved. One fiscal watchdog adds that at worst, these numbers are next to useless. House Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH) notes that there is no factual basis for the White Houses claims.

  • How long until the WH gets all pissy with CBS as they did with Fox? Never in my lifetime have I seen a President so thin-skinned that he cannot handle a news agency disagreeing with him. Is it any wonder why they favor a gov't-run news agency?

  • Sorry, Liberals have been studying how long a person can go without working for decades.

  • No jobs bills were allowed past the 41 vote republican minority in the senate after the stimulus - which passed in Obama's first month.

3 million jobs+, is what ECONOMISTS say.

Not only did republicans prevent further jobs legislation, they then campaigned on jobs and now refuse to do anything but offer CUTS to jobs.

  • I Believe This Was A Video Clip Of CBS News' CBS Evening News With Katie Couric's Report On Administration's Trillion-Dollar 'Stimulus' Claims "Hard To Believe" On Thursday Evening, October 29, 2009.

  • I am afraid that the stimulus plan not only failed (based on the unemployment rate as of 10/10), but put us $900B more in debt. I think the national debt is a serious issue. Once the Fed can not longer keep our bond yields artificially low, the interest payments on the debt will crush future budgets. I recommend "Why We Are In So Much Debt" for a succinct explanation of our monetary problem.

  • I would like to study the sex life of the college girls/

  • Sounds great! Let the multiplier effect kick in!

  • Yeah, at least it was a matter of incorrectly classifying it as aid or actual jobs.

If it were the Bush Administration The money would have just disappeared altogether.

Like so many pallets of cash in the iraqi dessert.....

  • The tide is turning on the one that walks on water he can't shut us all down. And 32010 is just around the corner so all his den of thieves will have to find a new home and he is a one time prez, maybe he can get a job in Iran when he is done or live of all the money he is gonna make of the prison in his state that will house the gitmo guys. And thats why there there trying them in the us he could not get the games there so he will profit from the new gitmo in his state.

  • All lies they even list on there web site that jobs were created in districts that are not even there,So where did that money go people wake up the money for the most part was wasted or went to pay union big wigs and bank whores bonus money. Obama has a bunch of thieves running things wel is the change everyone wanted.

  • Classic!

  • The shocking issue here is that Tax dollars have been used to "...Study the sex lives of female college freshmen..."

and this report, once complete, will go straight to the President first.
