@jugganaut35 yeh i know but wimby 08 wasn't even the best fed/nadal match, let alone the best tennis match. their best was rome 06. and the best match ive seen was the aussie open 05 semi... hmm what is it with federer and losing epics? o_O

@butterflycaught900 Well it's subjective obviously, but I'm old enough to remember watching Borg, McEnroe and Connors at Wimbledon and while that was great tennis I don't recall it reaching the level of artistry that Nadal and Federer have achieved.
As magnificent as Sampras was, Federer is better. Imo people don't seem to grasp that an off day for Federer is still better than 99% of the players who have ever played. And as good as he is, I think Nadal will surpass him if he stays healthy

@jugganaut35 it really wasn't. it was the most dramatic, maybe even the most important, but the tennis was pretty average. especially in the first 2 sets where federer was just plain bad

I thought it was funny that in this match, the commentators from my cable TV had to bring Ancic's victory over Federer from 5 YEARS AGO in order to hype up the match. Before Nadal, he was the only player to have beaten Federer on grass.
