  • @ApologeticsBenJoiner Yet in every church you go to, and every pastor who speaks, this fact is ignored, swept under the rug and twisted to make people seem evil. To make what was innocent curiosity appear malicious-spiteful disobedience.

This lie is used to justify horrid atrocities. This lie is used to silence any “inconvenient” questioning or criticism. those who do are told that they have a lack of faith, and this is falsely attributed with sin

  • @ApologeticsBenJoiner People are curious. That is natural. You can see this thought the world. As humans become self aware they become curious. if you believe in the genesis account, even before the fall, people were this way, seeking understanding and knowledge because they were curious.

In that account the devil being cunning used that curiosity to trap them.

This trap would not have been possible if God had given them the knowledge they needed, the knowledge that was forbidden.

  • @BaneOfAzrael Hmm, interesting. I'm curious about G. Why would God make people curious?

  • @ApologeticsBenJoiner Thats part of it but not all of it.

    He:

    A) Told them something was wrong, but did not explain that seriousness of it

    B) he did not explain why it was wrong

    C) They wouldn’t understand the term “wrong”

    D) He with held the knowledge of good and evil

    E) That Knowledge was needed for this Choice

    F) Allowed the Devil to manipulate them in their ignorance

    G) Knew that their curious nature would get the best of them

    H) Went crazy and punished all life on earth.

  • @BaneOfAzrael This is what I think you're saying. Correct me if I'm wrong. "God told them not to do it but he didn't tell them that doing it was bad." Is that what you're concluding from your points?

  • @ApologeticsBenJoiner What God did was give them a commandment that they would not be able to fully understand or abide to without the knowledge he forbid them.

The commandment gave them a moral choice, but they had no understanding of right and wrong and thus were not prepared for the situation god placed them in

  • @ApologeticsBenJoiner Secondly it wouldn’t make sense: God forbidding them from having the knowledge, then imparting it to them. No the bible is clear on it, They didn’t have it, they gained it though eating the fruit.

  • @ApologeticsBenJoiner

Further more Adam and eve would have understood the graity of the situation when confronted by the devil at the tree. There would no have had their “eyes opened” after eating it. and Having foreknowledge, they would have understood their mistake before they are the fruit (rather than after when they gained the knowledge.

  • @ApologeticsBenJoiner Not at all Ben, Telling you not to do something is not giving you knowledge. If you took a child who had just learned how to talk, placed him by a fire-place, and said “don’t touch” You’re not actually giving him any knowledge. If he doesn’t know why he shouldn’t touch, or doesn’t understand why he should listen to you, and touches it, its your irresponsibility and his not being prepared for the situation that is the problem.

  • @BaneOfAzrael Didn't he tell them not to eat from the tree? Isn't giving a commandment giving knowledge of good and evil?
