Watch isometric Dwarf Fortress in 'real time' (see INIT settings to create autoupdate: delay in milliseconds) and as I get incredibly distracted when everyone starts dying and fail English at 2 in the morning.
Stonesense is a Third Party Isometric Visualiser for Dwarf Fortress. This is the first video of it, the version I am showcasing is alpha version 3. It is open source now! http://code.google.com/p/stonesense/
Cliffnotes: Programmed by Jonask84 and Solifuge, Contributers Peterix, Mithaldu, no doubt others I'm missing, feel free to correct me. Sprites by multiple contributors. Some creatures do not have dedicated sprites yet, which are the purple "?" on the screen. Items are not in Stonesense yet, built constructions are displayed however. (On Halltraded- 101 dwarves) With FRAPs, and stonesense, my FPS in DF drops to about 45. Without FRAPs and with stonesense on, it's about 100 FPS. Without stonesense on, I recieve 130+ variable FPS This is on an intel i7 920 overclocked to 4.0 ghz, so regular users may have trouble with almost-real-time updating Updating can be set to virtually real time in INIT and using numpad + -
The Fortress I am "having fun" in is Halltraded, downloaded off the Dwarf Fortress File Depot. You can read about Halltraded here: http://www.bay12games.com/forum/index...
Thanks to Toady One for one of the best games ever.

I loved fallout 1&2 to death. Did you like the Sims 1 at all? I think Dwarf Fortress kinda tickles the same fancy, but actually provides the depth to keep it interesting.

Wow. Deep.
Also i don't like it because for starters it's the sims for neckbeards and second it's overly complicated and generally boring to play.
I play fallout 2 alot and that has shitty graphics, what now?
