Stroud Area Regional Police Lt. Brian Kimmins talks about the fatal stabbing of a 25-year-old woman in Stroudsburg, Pa., on Friday, Feb. 18, 2011. A man identified as Ruben Velazquez called 911 dispatchers at about 4:10 p.m. to report he had stabbed his girlfriend in the throat inside his apartment at 64B Broad Street, police said. Velazquez was immediately taken into custody and sent to Pocono Medical Center by ambulance for a precautionary check.
Kimmins probably still tried to get the victims phone number!

After meeting them both. she had been staying there for several days. I do know that the victim stated her boyfriend was in jail to borrow money from the person. He was hospitalized in a mental health facility before Christmas. He should have been kept but apparently the PA mental health system did not feel he was a danger to himself or others. He his diagnoses was paranoid schizo affective personality disorder

My thoughts and respect are with her family! The respect that this guy hasn't found his fate by her family for doing this to the innocent. i hope that justice is found in the hardest of situations, my prayers with her family, may she sleep well.

This guy is a monster and although PA doesn't have the death penalty, i'm sure he'll get his in prison. She was already unconscious when he started cutting, which means he had to stop and make a decision about it. Mental problems is such a weak excuse, like that makes it ok.... Everyone should be held accountable for their actions. This man will be roasting in hell forever and i hope that fact gives some solace to the family involved. -Subtle

The family has setup a fund as times are hard and this was not at all expected. Also since this was a dispickable murder that left behind 2 people to lay to rest her and her child the family is accepting donations for help with the funeral costs. People who want to donate can mail donations to The Stroudsburg Wesleyan Church with Krystle in the memo and there address is 915 N. 5th St. Stroudsburg Pa 18360 any help would be great but none are expected in these hard economical times.
