@liveforevermaybe That's true - but the fact they are touring the world - and will no doubt sell out - kind of defeats the argument that they are not known around the world, surely.

@liveforevermaybe commercial success is not a guarnetee of quality friend, nor a guarentee of talent. As succesful as the beatles and oasis are, even if you combined all the musicians who have played for both bands you wouldnt be able to find a bassist, guitarist and drummer as good as those who played for the stone roses. And their songs ARE classics.

@THthefirst because like the American WORLD series base ball , played all over the world in a country called USA. The Stone Roses World Tour is sold out in the Uk. Tickets or tour dates havent even been released as yet so it would be easy to sell out.

I have heard of them but unfortunately their songs are not classics and have already been forgotten. Beatles and Oasis songs will be playing in 100 years time.

@liveforevermaybe Hitler was world famous but that doesn't mean he was good.

The masses will always go for the easily accessible, music for the masses, lowest common demominator music like Oasis. They did some good songs, and when you hear a few songs, they're great, but after a while the songs are the same and they don't move forwards at all musically. The Roses were light years ahead.
