"Esta Navidad" - Rueda Demo @ SSS's "Holiday Salsa Social & Food Drive" in Houston, TX (12/10/11)

Rueda demonstration by four couples from Strictly Street Salsa, based in Houston, Texas (USA). The occasion is the "2011 Holiday Salsa Social and Food Drive" hosted by Strictly Street Salsa at the Sirrom Studio on Saturday, December 10, 2011. This annual holiday party included collection of many donated canned goods for a discounted admission price.

The Latin Christmas song used for our performance is "Esta Navidad" by Orquesta Tabaco y Ron (from the album "Ponle Salsa A Tu Navidad"). This partner-changing variation of Salsa dancing is called "Casino Rueda" or "Rueda de Casino" and was developed in Cuba and Miami. The Rueda portion of this particular demonstration is all freestyled, i.e., the selection of moves is being improvised on the floor. The men are dressed in traditional white guayaberas. The ladies are dressed in red and green Christmas colors for the occasion.
