Education is a fundamental right

The Barefoot Foundation is a Colombian non profit, non governmental organization created by internationally acclaimed artist and humanitarian Shakira. The organization is devoted to finding and providing opportunities for children who are victims of the violence in Colombia. Our goal is to improve the education, nutrition, and the lives of the thousands of boys and girls who have been displaced and who are living under perilous conditions because of the violence in Colombia.

La Fundación Pies Descalzos es una organización no gubernamental colombiano sin fines de lucros fundada por la artista internacionalmente aclamada y humanitaria Shakira. La organización está dedicada encontrar y proveer oportunidades para niños victimizada por la violencia en Colombia. Nuestra meta es mejorar la educación, el estado nutricional y las vidas de los miles de niños y niñas desplazados quienes viven en situaciones peligrosos por razón de la violencia en Colombia.

Can you imagine what world would look like if one quarter of population would be people like Shakira? Probably not, as we are living in a world full of violence and mistrust. It is great that someone is doing something about it. I agree with idea that if you want to make world better, you have to start by yourself and spread the word. That's what I am doing, at least.

Shakira is great!

It´s not enough to be a good singer and earn a lot of money if you spend it on alkoholism or drugs like many singers do.

To build schools and help poor people is the best thing you can do with your money! It´s really important to have people like Shakira! She´s the best!
