Everyone always recalls Jordan's iconic last shot from the wing, but his basket before that was absolutely incredible: a lightning fast drive from the wing, leaving his defender nailed to the floor, and finishing with a left-handed rainbow layup high off the glass in Ewing's face. Both of those shots were a glimpse of where Jordan was headed: to GOAT.

Back when college basketball was great and fun to watch. Ewings knees must have gone quick on him lol he never moved like this in the NBA

And they were 20 year olds playing at high stakes in the closest end to a championship Div 1 game in history so they were probably all "nervous as fuck." Look at Worthy! There is absolutely no reason in the word that he should be standing out where he was standing! Of course, Freddy Brown saw him out of the corner of the eye and thought it was Floyd because who the hell else would be standing way out there?? Then Worthy runs around like his hair is on fire and misses two free throws!

Eric Floyd was a great player and it was Freddy Brown who threw the pass, Mr Dumb Ass.Brown led the Hoyas to the championship two years later so he made up for it.

I went to this game and I hardly remember the Saturday games...we hit Bourbon Street and tore it up. This one was a definite classic. The goaltendings would have intimidated a lot of teams but not North Carolina and those guys. Jimmy Black was the floor leader for the Heels and took care of the ball........Memorable ending....The traffic getting outta there was also "lotsa fun".......

College basketball was so much better then. Nobody ever missed a shot, as this video shows.

That beard was significant. Dean Smith didn't allow any of his players to have facial hair, but Worthy had a skin condition that gave him ingrown hairs if he shaved. So Smith made an exception for him.
