I went to see Buddy Rich at Ronnie Scott's club back in 1980. I had the flu, felt dreadful, but I just had to see him play. It remains the most amazing musical experience of my life. Sitting no more than 6 feet from him I felt completely in awe of his genius. Other drummers may come and go, I have seen many, but he was and still is the greatest drummer that has ever drawn breath. If you ask any drummer including Travis Barker (!) they will agree. There are drummers and then there is Buddy. RIP.

Well, judging by your screen name, I have a feeling you're willing to say just about anything to protect your "precious Travis Barker's" reputation. Believe me, I've been there before; I used to think that "the TRV$" was the coolest shit to walk the earth, but then I opened my eyes (and ears) and discovered other, better, drummers. For example, Mike Johnston, Eric Moore II, Donnie Marple, Jerome Flood, etc.
I agree that Travis is an AMAZING performer, but he's nowhere near 'the best'...

Well, what I meant was, the fact that he existed doesn't get erased by his death.
