Only 4 months into living at the Duplex of Doom, while waiting for my classes to start in the Fall.

I had just ended my enlistment from the Navy in March 2002, and moved to b-town...

This occurred in 6A. I lived in 6B. It was very quiet that night. The AC, TV, and radio were all off. I was sitting at a desk in the back bedroom closest to the wall splitting the duplex. I heard the first shot around 11:49 pm. It made me jump. I listened and heard a door open and close and then footsteps moving down their main hallway (moving away from me). I got up and walked into my kitchen. I heard the 2nd shot when I got into the kitchen (~15 seconds after the 1st). Again, I stopped and listened. I heard more footsteps in the long hallway. I thought if it were really gunshots, I'd hear arguing, yelling, or something, which I had never heard from them before anyways. So, maybe it was just someone slamming a door...

And yes, I have heard from quite a few people that the place was haunted before and after the murders - bizarre, but true.

My daughter and her husband lived there for about a year. The rental company failed to tell them about the shootings. My daughter complained of cabinet doors always being open in the kitchen, even though she knew she had shut them. She also had horrible nightmares and one which she would awake to a gunshot sound right beside her ear. The often saw what appeared to be a shadowy figure standing at the doorway to their bedroom which was right off from the kitchen.

@Kstewart47404 @Kstewart47404 They were the first ones that moved in after they cleaned the place up. If I recall, this would Lane (sp?) and his girfriend at the time? We really never spoke much and I never told them about it. They did ask me a few times about noises they heard that they thought came from my side while I wasn't there. He also told me about her waking up screaming from the loud noise she thought she heard. Again, that was all before they actually knew about the murders.

Wow...you are right, Amy and Lane. I showed Amy the video tonight and the posts. She told me I had the cabinet thing backwards ... While they were moving in she was unpacking in the kitchen and would leave the doors to the cabinets open. She would walk out and go down the hallway to get something, come back and they would all be closed! She told me tonight, Lane would see a shadow of a woman at bedtime on more than one occasion. He just thought he had been dreaming. :)

@Kstewart47404 there is a little more history to this place before and after the murders. there were some neighbors up one duplex from me that were a bit strange, but left before the murders. The first couple of months there between Mar and May, I used to not lock the front door. Then one Monday I woke up to someone saying my name and it sounded like it was in the duplex. I came out of my bedroom and my neighbor, she was in my living room scooping up the Sunday newspaper.

@JWMEM763 I came around the corner from my bedroom and she had one foot inside my living room and said, "I hope you don't mind" WTF! Then, I always locked my doors after that. She also came over one time and knocked on my door. When I answered, she just said, "Everyone that lives in this duplex goes crazy, you know. Especially, the last girl that lived here" Then she walked off. I was pretty much like WTF again with this crazy ass lady.

@JWMEM763 Not too long after that, I called to have my cable hooked up. The cable company and subcontractor called me 3 different times to confirm that I wasn't living with whoever this previous girl was. When the guy arrived to hook it up, on the work order, there was actually a note on it saying that if this girl was there that they would only come with a sheriff escort. I kept that signed off installation notice for the longest time. I wish I still had it with that note on it!
