Anita Kelseys voice on Sway is more full of passion, Jennifers Voice on the same song gives it a more nervous and edgy sound to it like a first kiss.

I'm glad you all like it. Thank you for your comments.
As for who's "superior", maybe Anita Kelsey is superior singer, but Jenifer Connelly fits here better. IMO of course.

Guys if you will notice in the movie, the set-up , settings and story took place about 30's or 40's. Now, the sound of the instrument in this version of JC is not suited cuse it souns 2000 or present. But notice the voice of JC here, It better suited to 30's and 40's. So I guess in this particular scene, the Music is not better suited but JC's voice does.

An important point is that Connelly is playing a lounge singer. She's not supposed to be a great singer. Anita Kelsey's voice was too technically good and didn't fit this character at all.

It's like Isabella Rossellini in BLUE VELVET.

I find Connelly's voice far more appealling and human. There's more performance in it, rather than simply giving a good rendition of a song.

I love this extended scene.

Hm Yea I see your point about her pitch being off and such, but I don't know, something about her singing just appeals to me more than Kelsey's.

We all have our personal tastes, of course.

I think Jennifer is quite gorgeous... but, for me, her singing leaves a lot to be desired. Her Pitch is off... I don't think she has much Presence... etc.

All of this said, I think her real voice works nice in the Movie because she's a Bar Joint Singer... and that's how Jennifer sings.

So, no offense, but I think Anita's voice is technically much superior... but like you said, we all have our "opinions."

but theres a whole lot more to music than being technically perfect, the majority of artists/musicians i listen to are far from perfect, and i couldn't give a shit.
