Those Bishops were ferocious farters ;) . Twas all the high livin and the dhrink and the gout and the flatulence . In those the bishops got a modicum of respect . Nowadays it's mostly public ridicule and deserved !

No need to be so pedantic ' Shure the man made his living in the UK . He could'nt have pulled those stunts or told some of those jokes in the Ireland of the 1960's without some stupid bishop 'excommunicatiing ' him . We had to watch him on the BBC because Irish TV would'nt show it !!!!

I haven't seen Dave Allen for years but it never gets old. He still has me laughing till I cry. I was only a kid when he was on the TV but we always watched his shows, along with Dick Emery and Benny Hill. All the truly great comedians, sadly now passed on. Humour isn't what it used to be somehow. Very few comedians today can make me laugh the way they used to.
