The opposition Kuomintang party won a landslide victory in parliamentary elections in Taiwan on Saturday. President Chen Shui-bian, who has antagonized China with his efforts to forge a national identity for the self-governing island, resigned as chairman of the governing Democratic Progressive Party to take responsibility for the loss. Hey, don't you frikin compare the 2. The PRC elections are rigged and there's only 1 major party that exists there, the CCP. Here in the RoC, it's split pretty half and half, the Pan-Green vs the Pan-Blue.

Overall, the PanBlue Coalition held a majority, while the DPP in 2001 did win the most seats, the combined seats of the KMT, PFP, CNP were greater than that of the DPP
