Bands Reunited was a television programme produced by V H 1 in 2004. The show documented the attempted reuniting of a formerly popular musical ensemble for a special concert in either London or Los Angeles.

A show normally consisted of the crew first hunting down the ex-members of the band (often first in disguise) one-by-one, and convincing them to agree for the one-time concert; the members were "contracted" by signing a record album by their former band. The band members were then interviewed, usually focusing on the reasons of the breakup. The final segment would consist of the formal reunion of the band in the rehearsing studio, and a joint interview about why the group parted ways. If the reunion was successful, the episode ended with the final performance.

  • To do justice, they would need some serious preparation time and dedication to the cause - i.e. they would have to be a band again.

There were also non-musical elements that were essential to the Frankie experience (call it Paul Morley's marketing, pop culture, timing, social commentary, contrast to all the other pop acts at the time).

  • Pretty much all we have of FGTH today is the Horn/Lipson ZTT recordings (Don't have a definitive concert video). These recordings were state-of-the-art audio productions that remain sonically impressive. FGTH was a very good live band (I saw them Chicago, Aragon Ballroom), but they played with an additional guitarist and keyboard player. Their songs were elaborate - Not something for an unplugged session (with the exception of Power of Love maybe). To do justice, they would need some seriou

  • What a complete shame that they didn't perform. Holly has such a unique voice that it could never work without him. I thought if they had one last push he might have been persuaded. It's a pity that the show couldn't give them more time to reherse beforehand.

  • then again hollys the singer and hes gotten a bit fat. I think he would let himself and his reputatuion, as he said, down.

  • Its like they make holly more imortant because he was the frontman and the so-called 'personality' which i think we can relate to but it's unfair.

  • @Stonewallization You certainly have a point. I'd like to think they'll reunite one of these days, but I really don't see that happening....

  • @jonash995 Damn right! Welcome to the Pleasuredome is my favorite and will always be one of my all time favorite songs.

  • it's ok, Holly.

  • I will always love you guys

  • C'mon Holly. I know you have your reasons, but you have money and fame. The canyon of difference can't be so broad that you can't perform. Just once. This goes for Morrissey and the Smiths, as well.
