once again, Macy's ruined a good thing. I grew up with Kaufmann's in my area, and it was the greatest. I'd bet they'd make more money if they switched the Marshall Field's and the Kaufmann's names back...people want those stores. not macy's.

@dawnten Thank god no, but just about everything else has been tampered with.

Marshall Field's was the most service-oriented store in Chicago. It was wholly unique, not generic, and their staff and I were on a first-name basis. They knew my size and taste, alerted me when new merchandise arrived which they felt I would find desirable; ninety-nine percent of the time they were RIGHT! This has been a terrible loss to Chicago, and to ALL Field's shoppers. I still shopped at Field's both by catalogue and by phone, although I live elsewhere. PLEASE BRING FIELD'S BACK!

Its a crime that a landmark like Marshal Fields is no longer there. I loved the Tiffany ceiling. Does anyone know if Macys altered the beautiful interior?

i went to marshall fields back in 2005. i loved it there and i was shocked when i found out they'd been closed not long after i went

Macy's bought up all the regional stores and converted them but it is so boring to travel the US and see Dillards and Macys in every city. nothing unique anymore..

Ever since Macy's did this; I never parked my car near any Macy's store.
